In 2008, sisters Katherine Kallinis Berman and Sophie Kallinis LaMontagne opened a boutique cupcake shop in the heart of one of D.C.’s most beloved towns.  Its name?  Georgetown Cupcake.  Perhaps you’ve heard of it from TLC’s show “DC Cupcakes.”

While the shop has gained fame, its owners have also gone on to star in “Cupcake Cam Live” and author two novels— The Cupcake Diaries and Sweet Celebrations.

Since its opening, the shop has become a staple of tourism in Georgetown.  It has also expanded to New York City, Los Angeles and other notable U.S. cities.  However, even if you can’t make it to one of these locations, the bakery also ships items across the globe and caters.

If you’re ever in D.C., it is highly recommended that you check out the original site.  The shop is located just minutes from Georgetown University—surrounded by plenty of restaurants and stores.

Georgetown Cupcake is open Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.  The menu contains a plethora of flavors, which includes everyday classics, daily specials and seasonal choices.  At $3.25 a cupcake, customers can order anything from vanilla to the more peculiar designs like “unicorn.”
