Come one, come all to one of the most talked about Greek Life traditions at Robert Morris University: Sorority and Fraternity Airband.
On April 7, RMU Greek Life will host its annual Airband competition. The competition, which is the final event of an entire week filled with games and other sporting events, is a lip-syncing and dance battle — each chapter is responsible for creating a theme, choreographing a dance to match the theme, creating its own music, designing its own costumes and performing a seven-minute show.
In previous years, we’ve seen sororities take on classic movies and board games, while fraternities have taken on boy bands and famous actors—each with a creative and fun twist to make audiences go crazy. This year, the event will feature the following:
- Delta Phi Epsilon – Toy Story
- Delta Zeta – Mean Girls
- Sigma Kappa – “She Believed She Could, So She Did”
- Zeta Tau Alpha – Welcome to The Jungle
- Alpha Chi Rho – The Wizard of Oz
- Alpha Phi Delta – Rocky
- Delta Tau Delta – Disney
- Kappa Delta Rho – MTV
- Phi Beta Sigma – (hasn’t been announced)
- Phi Delta Theta – Evolution of Dance
- Phi Sigma Kappa – An Uber Experience
This event, though strictly for members of Greek Life, attracts people throughout the entire community. Admission to enter is $1 per person, but all proceeds are donated to Pittsburgh Action Against Rape.
Check out last year’s sorority and fraternity winners, Zeta Tau Alpha and Delta Tau Delta, respectively, to give yourself an idea of what to look forward to. The event starts at 7 p.m. and will be held in the Charles L. Sewall Center.
